Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis is criticized on social media as a racist after sending a black radio show to animate a monkey emoji in a direct message conversation. Dennis was arguing with radio host and activist Mika Gadsden about a local event, and the messages show that things have gotten hot.
Gadsden called Katie Shields – the owner of a boutique in Charleston, South Carolina – on Sunday when she announced that she was hosting a Donald Trump rally called the “Trump Boat Parade”. Gadsden tweeted that in Charleston, you quickly learn that the face of white supremacy resembles that of “glitterati shop owners”. This is what happens when a black woman in #Charleston denounces white supremacy in the form of MAGA rallies. My comments on: Mylk Bar encouraged this @BravoTV “actor” @KathrynDennis to taunt me with monkey emojis in my DM. With a host of other names. pic.twitter.com/RbEd5CBcOz

She also posted a photo of Shields and called it “reprehensible” for organizing a “MAGA nautical rally”. Gadsden says Dennis started taunting her on Instagram after the tweet by sending her a number of direct messages.
